SMART CITY EXPO CASABLANCA 2017:
CITIES BY ALL
With 5,000 participants from 47 cities around the world, 83 speakers and 30 exhibitors, Smart City Expo Casablanca, which took place on May 17th and 18th, has once again met all expectations.
With the theme: « Cities by all », the second edition of Smart City Expo Casablanca offered a rich scientific program, declined around 14 conferences and 40 themes. By promoting a smart and sustainable city, with the theme « Cities by All« , Casablanca also confirmed its commitment to a Smart City model that involves all the inhabitants and relied on the ecosystem of local start-ups to value their innovative and creative spirit. Smart City Africa Casablanca was thus a reflection of the collective spirit and positive energy advocated by the WECASABLANCA attractiveness approach.
The topics discussed during this meeting focused on future mobility, urban and technological innovation, resilience and climate change, the collaborative society and attractive cities. Furthermore, the event distinguished itself this year with the participation of two keynote speakers: Anibal Gaviria, former Mayor of Medellin, Colombia, and Charles Landry, consultant and international speaker from the United Kingdom.
This popular success now positions Morocco as a key reference in the field of smart cities in Africa and around the world. Alongside global cities, Casablanca has indeed benefited from an excellent representation through the presence of experts from public and private spheres.
